Bloom Human Resources Consulting was founded by Melissa Lanigan in 2018. She established the company to help small businesses understand their employees, as well as hire, manage, engage, motivate, and retain their most valuable resource within the evolving area of human resources.
Melissa has an Honour’s Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Human Resources Management from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa. She also has a Certificate in HR Law for HR Professionals from the Osgoode Hall School at York University. Additionally, she is a member in good standing of the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA).
Her other designations include being a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) through the HRPA, Certified Workplace Mindfulness Facilitator (CWMF) through Mindful Leader, and Flow-Certified Business Coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
Melissa has over 10 years of HR consulting experience working independently and at a firm. She held internal HR roles within for-profit and not-for-profit organizations across various industries and was a Board member at The Ottawa Hospital Civic Auxiliary. These opportunities provided Melissa with a unique view of human resources and managing employees from multiple different business perspectives.
In her spare time, Melissa enjoys relaxing lakeside, exploring outdoors with her dogs Schooner and Charlie, teaching yoga, and taking courses to further learn and grow in all areas of life.
